Micromax has been trying hard to woo customers in the 10k segment, especially when more devices are being launched in the same category. Micromax Canvas Infinity is one of the recent launches from the brand, and it will compete with the likes of Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4, Nokia 5 and Lenovo K series. What makes Micromax Canvas Infinity worth the hype? Here’s what you need to know.

The basics

Micromax Canvas Infinity is a bigger phone with a 5.7-inch display. The 18:9 screen is the most marketed highlight of this smartphone, and in that department, it doesn’t really disappoint. However, do not expect high-end resolution or performance as you would expect with a device costing more than 15k. At its core, it comes with 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 3GB of RAM, and performance-wise, the phone seems pretty decent on paper. However, do note that the amount of bloatware on this device is huge. Everything from Narendra Modi to Amazon is already there. You get 32 GB ROM, but that’s expandable up to 128 GB. Micromax Canvas Infinity price in India is around 9k after discounts.

More on the device

Micromax Canvas Infinity has been termed as the device for the selfie lover. It has a 16MP shooter on the front, which can click great selfies on the go, while the 13MP rear camera is not bad either. Out of the box, it runs on Android 7.1.2, but you can expect the Oreo update soon. It must be noted that it runs on My Launcher from the brand, so the performance of the software isn’t what you would get with Stock Android. One of the other highlights of the device is the 2900mAh removable battery, which offers a standby performance of 420 hours. Even with heavy gaming and movies, you can expect decent battery backup. The phone doesn’t have support for fast charging. All the sensors, including Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Magnetometer are included. There are two SIM slots on Micromax Canvas Infinity.

Overall, Micromax Canvas Infinity isn’t a bad device, but if you can afford a tad more, you can have LG Q6, which has a better screen with the same display features. LG Q6 price is around 16k after discounts, which again isn’t bad, especially if you consider the much better hardware and display experience. Grab your Micromax Canvas Infinity now at a discount!
